What We Do

Small World Sciences LLC conducts materials science and engineering R&D to develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Current research aims to develop biomimicry-based infrared reflective textiles to help people stay cool in hot weather.

Our goal is to produce fibers and fabrics that mimic the properties that allow the Saharan Silver Ant to survive in the hottest conditions on earth. We plan to transfer these properties to dual-use clothing and building materials that protect people in hot weather and save energy by reducing the demand for air conditioning in buildings.
